# Gateway
Track payment gateway transaction fees in Bloom so gateway costs are included in your Shopify profit calculations automatically or manually.
### What is Gateway Cost?
Gateway Cost lets you track payment gateway transaction fees and include them in your profit calculations in Bloom. Shopify Payments and PayPal fees are handled automatically, and you can add costs manually for gateways Shopify does not cover (for example, PayU or custom gateways).
### How it Works
Bloom handles Shopify Payments and PayPal automatically, so in most cases you do not need to add anything manually.
**Shopify Payments**
If an end customer checks out using Shopify Payments, Bloom automatically pulls:
\- Percentage-based fee
\- Fixed fee (in USD)
These are applied based on the merchant's Shopify plan.
**Other Payment Gateways**
If an end customer uses a non-Shopify payment gateway, Shopify applies an alternative percentage fee based on the merchant's Shopify plan. Bloom automatically accounts for this as well.
For payment gateways that are not covered by Shopify (for example, Amazon or custom gateways), costs can be added manually. Manual gateway costs apply only to the selected gateway.

### How to Use it
To add a gateway cost for a payment gateway not covered by Shopify:
1. Click Add Gateway Cost.
2. Enter the Percentage fee.
3. Enter the Fixed fee.
4. Enter the External fee (if applicable).
5. Click Save.
6. Recalculate to ensure accurate profit metrics.
