Operating Expense

The Operating Expense arrow-up-rightpage in Bloom allows you to record and track business expenses that are not available in Shopify, helping you calculate your true and accurate profits. By adding these costs, Bloom ensures your profitability analysis reflects the full cost of running your business—not just product and ad-related expenses.

You can add and manage expenses across the following categories:

All operating expenses added here are factored into your overall profit calculations, giving you a complete view of your business performance.

Interest payments

The Interest Payments section lets you track interest expenses from loans, credit lines, or credit cards used for your business. Bloom provides flexible options for specifying the payment schedule, including daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or one-time payments, making it easy to reflect your actual financial obligations.

After entering all details, click Save to record the expense. The interest payments will then be included in Bloom’s profit calculations, giving you a more accurate view of your business's profitability.

Rent and Lease Costs

The Rent & Lease Costs section allows you to track expenses for office, warehouse, or other rental spaces. Bloom provides flexibility in specifying the payment schedule, including daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or one-time payments, making it easy to reflect your actual financial obligations.

After entering all details, click Save to record the expense. These rent and lease costs will be included in Bloom’s profit calculations, giving you a more accurate view of your business's profitability.

Other COGS

The Other COGS section allows you to record additional costs of goods sold that are not captured by Shopify, such as packaging, shipping supplies, or custom components. You can specify the amount and payment frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or one-time). Click Save to include these expenses in Bloom’s profit calculations, giving you a more accurate picture of your true profitability.

Tax Payments

The Tax Payments section lets you track business-related taxes, including sales tax, income tax, or other regulatory payments. Specify the amount and payment schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or one-time), then click Save. Bloom will factor these expenses into your profit analysis for a complete view of your financial performance.

Marketing (Non-Ad Costs)

The Marketing (Non-Ad Costs) section is for tracking marketing expenses that are not related to ads, such as influencer payments, promotional materials, or email campaigns. Enter the expense amount and frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or one-time), then click Save. These costs will be included in Bloom’s profit calculations to reflect your total marketing spend.

Maintenance Costs

The Maintenance Costs section allows you to log expenses for equipment, software, or facility maintenance. Enter the cost and payment schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or one-time), then click Save. Bloom incorporates these expenses into profit calculations to provide a complete view of operational costs.

Other Business Expenses

The Other Business Expenses section is for miscellaneous costs not captured in other categories. Specify the amount and payment schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or one-time), then click Save. These expenses are factored into Bloom’s profit calculations for a holistic view of your business costs.

Employee Costs

The Employee Costs section lets you track wages, salaries, benefits, or bonuses paid to employees. Enter the amount and payment schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or one-time), then click Save. These costs will be included in Bloom’s profit calculations to accurately reflect labor expenses.

Professional Service Fees

The Professional Services Fees section allows you to track payments for accountants, consultants, legal advisors, or other professional services. Specify the amount and payment schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or one-time), then click Save. Bloom includes these expenses in profit calculations for a complete picture of your business spending.
