# Marketing Insights

Marketing Efficiency shows if your customers and ads are profitable after product costs, shipping, and fees, and whether to spend more or less.

#### What is Marketing Insights?

Marketing Insights is a module with three tabs that answer three questions a store owner asks about ad spending: Are my customers profitable (Customer Value)? Should I spend more or less (Scale Decision)? Are my ads profitable (Ad Profitability)? It goes past what Facebook or Google report and shows real profit after product costs, shipping, and fees. It then turns that into one clear budget instruction per week, like a CFO looking over the merchant's shoulder.

#### How it Works

**The three tabs**

Customer Value answers "Are my customers profitable?" Scale Decision answers "Should I spend more or less?" Ad Profitability answers "Are my ads profitable?"

**Fixed time frame per tab**

There are no date pickers anywhere in this module. Each tab has one fixed, comparable frame, shown as a chip in the header.

Customer Value: the trailing 6 months (for example, Feb 1 to Jul 22). This is deliberately the same six months as the Scale Decision charts, so the table columns and the bars are the same cohorts.

Scale Decision: always "as of today," because the advice is about what to do now.

Ad Profitability: the last 3 finished months plus this month so far, shown weekly.

**Why you cannot change the dates**

These views are cohort comparisons. One fixed frame keeps every month comparable and keeps the advice honest. Custom date ranges live in Bloom's reporting areas, not here.

Actual versus estimated values

A customer's "60-day value" can only be fully known 60 days after they buy. Month columns are therefore tagged ACTUAL (everyone has finished the 60 days) or EST · X% MATURED. Numbers that depend on repeat purchases carry a \~ until the printed finalization date.

Think of ACTUAL as recorded weather and \~ as the forecast: built from real behavior so far, but it can move.

The Scale Decision tab shows the same idea as bars. A solid bar is final (everyone completed the window). A faded bar with a dashed outline and a label is still maturing, and its hover shows when it becomes final. The same convention is used everywhere in the module.

#### Data available

**Insights**

The Customer Value and Ad Profitability tabs include an Insights & Alerts panel. The Scale Decision tab has no insights panel, because its large advice card is the insight.

| **Insight** | **What it Flags** |
| ----------- | ---------------------------------- |
| Green | Good news. |
| Red | A problem, with an action to take. |
| Amber | Something to watch. |
